Proposes minimum corroboration requirements for findings included in a due diligence report, distinguishing a corroborated finding from an uncorroborated allegation.
Scope
Would apply to all due diligence engagements commissioned through 1Cert.org, including enhanced due diligence reports.
Requirements (proposed)
A finding reported as corroborated would require at least two independent sources, or one primary-document source (a filing, judgment, or licensing record). A single-source allegation, including adverse media that has not been independently corroborated, would be reported as an allegation, clearly distinguished in the deliverable from corroborated findings.
Methodology (proposed)
This draft standard is open for consultation. See open consultations for the current consultation period and how to submit comments.
