Sets out the criteria and process by which a jurisdictional certification partner is formally recognised, and how that recognition is publicly represented.
Scope
Applies to any body seeking recognition as a jurisdictional certification partner or authorised agency.
Requirements
A jurisdictional certification partner is recognised only once a written recognition arrangement has been concluded and recorded. Public representation of the relationship — including use of the term “accredited” — is permitted only once that arrangement is confirmed and recorded against the partner’s entry in the global network.
An authorised agency of a certification partner is recognised only where the certification partner has itself confirmed the agency’s authorisation in writing.
Methodology
Applications for recognition are assessed against the criteria published on the recognition framework page. Assessment includes verification of the applicant’s legal standing in its jurisdiction and its operating capacity to carry out the activity for which recognition is sought.
Governance
Recognition decisions are made by the Recognition Authority function described in governance and are subject to periodic review.
