Sets out the minimum information a published registry record must disclose about the chain of recognition connecting the credential holder to the recognition authority.
Scope
Applies to all credential, licence and accreditation records where a recognition chain of more than one link exists.
Requirements
A registry record disclosing a recognition chain must name each node in the chain, state its role at that level (recognition authority, certification partner, authorised agency, or credential holder), and identify the jurisdiction in which that node operates where applicable. Where a node’s status in the chain has changed — for example, an authorisation that has since lapsed — the record must reflect the status current at the time of publication rather than the status at the time the credential was originally issued.
Methodology
Recognition chain data is drawn from the recognition authority’s own published records of its certification partners and their authorised agencies, cross-checked against the partner’s own public statements of authorisation where available.
Governance
Disputes over the accuracy of a disclosed recognition chain are handled through the review and correction process.
